So it's been a while since we've posted on here.  Totally my fault (Kim) because I'm slacking on editing a bunch of photos taken over the last year.  With it being April of 2020 I thought I should put some of the self-isolation to good use and bring this page back to life again!

A lot has happened since we last posted, but thought a good place to start would be our engagement story.

Milford Point - Connecticut Audubon Society 5/12/2019 & 6/8/2019

This is another place we went to on two separate occasions and decided to combine into one post.  Interestingly enough with just about a month apart we saw completely different birds.  It's a good thing to keep in mind if you ever go somewhere and don't have the best of luck; especially with how often migration patterns for all sorts of wildlife vary.  Also explains why some photos might look more overcast while some look sunnier.

While the other places we've mentioned so far have clear paths, this is more of an open area.  There's a very short wooded trail in the front beside a man made pond where we saw some rabbits, cardinals, etc.  You cross a small road to see a pier and from there it's a beach trail that loops around marsh.

Barn Island - 5/26/2019

Taking advantage of the first nice weekend in a while we drove out to Stonington, CT to visit a place called Barn Island.  It's not exactly an island, but more a perfect mix of woods and marshland.  The main trail is a flat loop making it easy to navigate with a few optional side trials to explore deeper into the woods.  Overall it was a beautiful scenic walk.  We didn't see as much wildlife as we expected, but enjoyed the day nonetheless.

Meig's Point Nature Trail - 5/18/2019

So Hammonasset is one of those known places to go in the summer in Madison, CT.  We both have gone to the main attraction, which is the beach, and have had fun camping trips there as well.  But a kinda hidden secret we’re sharing today is if you head to Meig’s Point there’s a quiet nature trail behind the Nature Center.

We went in not really sure what to expect, but it’s actually a paved and flat trail with the perfect mix of sun and shade.  In the morning we saw people riding bikes, taking their dogs or families on a walk, and a lot of other fellow photographers and bird watching groups.

Here’s a few highlights from what we spotted on our walk.
